We're halfway through the Barclays Premier League 2015/16 season, and Arsenal are top of the league on goal difference - three points above Manchester City, and nine above Manchester United. All of this despite injuries to Santi Cazorla, Alexis Sanchez, Jack Wilshere, Francis Coquelin, Danny Welbeck and a few more. Well, if they can be so good as they have been with all those casualties, wonder what a few signings could do to their title hopes this season? With the January Transfer Window drawing ever closer, Arsene Wenger - as the reports do suggest - maybe has realised that it's time he splashed the cash out.
Mohamed Elneny reportedly agrees to join
A top Egyptian website is reporting that the 23-year old has undergone a medical in Paris and a deal has already been agreed to sign the midfielder from FC Basel.
The Gunners have been strongly linked with Elneny over the past few weeks, and it was only a week ago that the BBC and Sky Sports confirmed that there were talks being held between the two clubs.
Ahram Online are now claiming they've talked to Elneny and the Egyptian has himself said that the move is all but done. The fee is reported to be in the region of £5 million.
Sergi Samper could be on his way to The Emirates Stadium
Another mid-fielder is on Arsenal's radar and he's none other than FC Barcelona's emerging star Sergi Samper. The Express are reporting that a deal could be on if the Gunners are wiling to pay £4.4 million for the Spanish prodigy.
While one would like to see Arsene Wenger sign an experienced DM - someone like Michael Carrick or Grzegorz Krychowiak - Samper could prove to be an equally good signing if all goes well, just as it did in the case of Hector Bellerin and Cesc Fabregas.
If the North Londoners do show serious interest, Bellerin's relations with Samper could come in handy.
Arsenal to bid for Edinson Cavani?
A world-class centre forward has been Arsenal's need for a few years now, hence, to see Edinson Cavani being heavily linked with the reigning FA Cup Champions isn't a surprise by any means.
Reports from Buzz Sport suggest Arsenal could launch a £47 million bid for the Uruguayan striker, though, they could face some competition from Manchester United who are also in the market to make additions up front.
PSG aren't necessarily interested in selling the 28-year old, however, an offer in the region of £47 million could make the deal happen.
Alexis Sanchez tells Arsene Wenger to sign Javier Hernandez
In another news, Alexis has advised his boss to go ahead and sign in the in-form Javier Hernandez who is currently scoring goals for fun in the Bundesliga.
Chicharito was earlier sold by Manchester United after the Mexican had completed his loan spell at Real Madrid, as he was thought to be supplementary to their needs.
But, the decision proved to be the wrong one, and as it stands, Javier is one of the hottest striking properties and in demand around the world. Arsenal - who themselves need reinforcements up front - could well snaffle him from Bayer Leverkusen.
