CONFIRMED: Bayern Munich agree Arturo Vidal deal

  • CONFIRMED: Bayern Munich agree Arturo Vidal deal

Bayern Munich have agreed a deal to sign Juventus and Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal for £28million.

The Chilean had been a target for Arsenal and Manchester United, with the former being the favourites to land him some weeks ago. However, following successful talks with Bayern Munich, Vidal has agreed upon a move to the Allianz Arena, subject to a medical.

"I can confirm that we have reached an agreement in principle between both parties and the player," Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.

"It lacks only the medical examination and the signing of the contract. Should everything run smoothly, Arturo will start training with the club next week."

Arturo Vidal now becomes the second midfielder to leave Juventus this summer following the departure of Andrea Pirlo as well. With an experience of 117 Bundesliga games (15 goals) for Bayer Leverkusen, Vidal could well prove to be the signing that puts the German champions back on track for Champions League contention.
