Just when you think the "Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Arsenal" rumours are dead and buried, reports in Spain suggest the Paris Saint-Germain striker could still make a move to Arsenal.
Spanish newspaper Fichajes have reported of a potential move from PSG for Sweden forward Zlatan as his contract with the French Champions finishes next year. The former AC Milan player has hinted of a possible transfer, and though he may prefer playing in the MLS, the chances of him joining Arsenal are still alive.
The Gunners are said to have made a move for Ibrahimovic on the deadline day as per Martyn Macintyre of The Guardian, however, the deal stalled midway following the 33-year old's wages demands, as was the case with Karim Benzema whom the Gunners signed to fail (as claimed by Italian journalist by Emanuele Giulianelli).
It was a frustrating transfer window for the North Londoners as they failed to sign any of their reported targets, henceforth leaving the weak areas as they were. While the current FA Cup Champions were linked heavily to some big-names, the fact that there were only half-hearted measures to actually get those targets didn't amuse many.
Sol Campbell is the latest to join the long list of people who have criticised the Gunners, "There was talk of Karim Benzema coming," Campbell told The Daily Mail.
"And really if they want to win the Premier League, Arsenal need to push the boat out to get those special players who will make a difference.
"You can’t make one big signing. Everybody does that, and you never move on."
